Geary C. Morris Geary Morris is senior vice president of Marketing for Dimension Data North America, a member of Dimension Data Holdings, plc. The $2.4 billion company is a specialist IT services and solution provider that helps clients plan, build and support their IT infrastructures. Dimension Data applies its expertise in networking, security, mobility, operating environments, storage and contact center technologies and its unique skills in consulting, integration and managed services to create customized client solutions. In her role she is responsible for the marketing strategy and department functions for the company’s North American operations. She is responsible for strategic account planning, marketing, business intelligence, customer segmentation and communications. She previously served as VP of Marketing and director of Communications for Dimension Data North America and corporate director of public relations for Proxicom, a company acquired by Dimension Data. Morris held several corporate and division marketing communications roles at Marriott International including director of North American Communications, where she was responsible for developing the strategic direction and action plans integrating public relations, community relations, local government relations and owner/franchisee communications for Marriott’s top 15 geographic markets. Additionally, she served as a company spokesperson to media during high profile crisis situations, litigation and promotional events. She conducted executive media and crisis response skills training for hotel general managers and corporate leaders. She was also responsible for the public relations strategy for Marriott’s Internet and e-commerce division and new launch of technology. Other positions she held include director of brand public relations for four of the company’s lodging brands and marketing communications manager for the Courtyard and Fairfield Inn hotel brands. She served on the brand launch team for TownePlace Suites. She utilized her desire and commitment to community-based initiatives, where she developed and served on three of Marriott's community relations efforts including Marriott International's Spirit to Serve our Communities program, Fairfield Inn's alliance with Habitat for Humanity, and TownePlace Suites' Homes for the Holiday program. She was responsible for the creation and relationship of the Habitat and Homes for the Holiday programs Prior to joining Marriott, she was public relations manager for the International Bottled Water Association and served as the communications director during the worldwide Perrier product recall. She has also held public relations positions with the National Soft Drink Association and the Society of Human Resource Management. She is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America where she serves as treasurer its largest affiliate, the National Capital Chapter. She was named to the Board of Directors of the IT Solutions Marketing Association (ITSMA) in 2004. Geary is past chairman of the communications council of the American Heart Association’s National Capital Chapter. She is the recipient of a platinum Golden Bell PR award from the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI). In May 2001, Geary completed her Master’s degree in Business Administration from The George Washington University Executive MBA program.
